Our field lab is located at the WildCraft Forest Ecomuseum, one hour from Kelowna, east of Vernon, British Columbia Canada
Visitors can walk the trails of the forest within guided and self-guided tours, which can take about two hours at a leisurely stroll. The interpretation mixes art forms displayed along the trail system with descriptions of the natural flora, fauna and wildlife habitat.
Scientists, guides, artists and storytellers begin their adventures from the Whole Earth Discovery Field Lab located at the Wildcraft Forest Ecomuseum.
Whole Earth Discovery offers a wide array of adventure experiences that combine the spectacular landscape of the Okanagan and Monashee regions of British Columbia with learning about our changing planet.
The Monashee is a vast wilderness area of mountains, hidden valleys and lakes. It is one of the best-kept secrets in North America. Our expeditions take you to remote lakes and alpine meadows that are unsurpassed in beauty anywhere in the world.
The Okanagan is home to the northern part of the great Sonora Desert. Riparian areas are rich in grasslands and unique mixed forests where there are many species at risk. Our expeditions examine the expanding desert and the impacts of climate change on this spectacular landscape.
Whether it’s a daytrip or a week-long field study, Whole Earth Discovery mixes science, spirit and mystery within an inspiring adventure experience.
Your host will meet you with our shuttle at our Field Lab at the Wildcraft Forest, or if you require, we can pick you up at another location in Vernon or Kelowna.
At Whole Earth Discovery we organize research expeditions for natural events and other occurrences as they unfold. Such expeditions are organized with very little notice and are posted on our events page as they happen.
